![]() The big problem is that old printers were never removed from the print server, the IPs were re-used. There's a lot of them, which isn't the big problem. I just started a new job and am finding there's a lot of housekeeping to be done, including printers. If I get another month without losing the USB drive, I am going to call this a win for me. Thus far, problem has not recurred - but in my case it was not a constant problem. Edited the service to restart service on failure (it was set to do nothing). I have determined the problem to be related to the USB storage devices listed in Device manager being turned off by power management. %uFFFD but it didn't apply in my scenario. Reboot the server and my USB drive is back. Every now and then the drive drops out of existence like described in this post.
